How to close Weltrade profile?

If you no longer wish to use Weltrade services under the South African entity, you may request the closure of your Weltrade profile at any time. Below you will find important information about the conditions, steps, and legal limitations related to closing your profile.


Before you close your profile

Before submitting a profile closure request, please make sure that:

  • All open trading positions are closed

  • Your trading account balance is zero

  • There are no pending withdrawals, bonuses, or unresolved obligations

  • You have access to your registered email address

Profile closure is not possible if there are active obligations or unresolved compliance matters.


How to request profile closure

To close your Weltrade profile under the South African entity, follow these steps:

  1. Submit a clear request to close your profile

  2. Complete identity confirmation if requested

  3. Wait for confirmation once the request is processed

For South African clients, profile closure requests are handled in coordination with compliance requirements under local regulations.


What happens after your profile is closed

Once your profile is closed:

  • Access to Personal Area is disabled

  • Trading services are terminated

  • You will no longer be able to log in or use Weltrade services under this profile

  • Reopening the profile is not guaranteed and is subject to Compliance review

If you wish to use Weltrade services again in the future, a new registration and verification will be required.


Personal data and retention period (South Africa)

Although you may request profile closure, personal data cannot always be deleted immediately.

Under South African law (including FICA and related financial regulations), Weltrade SA is required to retain certain client information for at least 5 years after the termination of the business relationship, and in some cases longer.

This means:

  • Your profile can be closed

  • Processing of your data is restricted

  • Data is retained only for legal, regulatory, or audit purposes

If deletion is not legally possible, your data will be securely stored and not used for commercial purposes.


How to request deletion of personal data

If you wish to request deletion of your personal data (Right to Erasure), you may submit a written request to:

  • Clear description of the request

Weltrade SA will respond within 30 days. If additional time is required due to legal or operational complexity, the response period may be extended by another 30 days with explanation.


Important notes for South African clients

  • Profile closure does not cancel legal data retention obligations

  • Closed profiles may still be reviewed for regulatory or legal purposes

  • Account closure does not affect obligations already incurred

  • Weltrade SA reserves the right to refuse closure in cases of fraud, abuse, or regulatory investigations
